Highlands Full Zip

This is a pretty great hoodie. I love the color and style. It’s very comfortable, kept me warm down into the high 40s, and has good pockets. The one thing that keeps it from being five stars is the elastic around the hood is designed to leave very little of your face exposed. There’s something to be said for that, but if you wear glasses or a hat, it can get a bit tight. Whether or not that’s a big deal is very much up to the wearer. If you want something that will cover more of your face than a lot of other hoodies, this is a great choice.

Fits perfectly, comfortable, and warm. My only regret is not buying both color options.

A denser fleece jacket than my Patagonia R2, it works well in even windy conditions. It quickly became my primary jacket. The hood is a nice addition.

I’ve had plenty of zip-ups, light coats, 3 season this and that, but this might be the best one yet.

The fabric is heavy but has a large amount of stretch to it. Usually, heavy means “doesn’t move very well” but this is the right amount of stretch and the fit is fantastic. The material feels durable and solid.

So it looks good but how does it work?

Winter just hit Austin and it’s cold and wet. It was 44° and drizzling this morning. The Highland was perfect. I was warm and stayed dry and that’s the best thing I can say about a piece of gear. It does what it’s supposed to do.

I really want to love the fleece, it has all the features i was looking for - hood, plenty of pockets, good weight. but the seams are incredibly rough against your skin. it is fine if you are wearing a long sleeve shirt underneath it. however, it is fairly uncomfortable if you are wearing a t-shirt. wish i had returned it. i've never had this issue before. maybe they will soften up after more washes...
