Obsessed, New Fav Pants
These have become my new go-to hiking pants. I first tested them out in Glacier National Park this past August, where it thunder stormed nearly the entire trip. These plants were flexible and breathable on their own and still comfy when layered with rain pants. They held up great on the brushy trail and dried out when hung up overnight. I have also worn them backpacking in the Central Cascades of Oregon along with Olympic National Park. The attention to detail is incredible: super versatile pockets, snaps at the ankle to be more fitted (great for bicycling), articulated knees. I also did a 5-day bike tour in the Ecotrek shorts and was equally impressed.
Not only are these pants functional, they fit me perfectly. They look fantastic on and off the trail. The drape is ideal for athletic people with big quads/thighs. I have enough room in the legs to move freely, yet the waist can still be cinched with the drawstring for a flattering fit. I haven't tried climbing in these yet, but am confident they would excel given the looseness through the knees and thighs along with the durability. For reference, I am 5'6" and weigh roughly 140-145lbs. I normally wear a size 4 or 6 in most women's pants, but ordered a size 8 based on the size chart and they fit perfectly. I just ordered the Ecotrek overalls, really hope they arrive before I leave for my next trip this Friday!
The only room for improvement is potentially finding an alternative to the drawstrings on the inside. I like that I…
