These are going to get a lot of use
I've had these a few days and worn them in a few different situations. Overall I think they're pretty nice and will have a spot in the rotation for me. There are a couple of minor details that I don't care for and keep me from giving them 5 full stars. If I could give a half, they'd get 4 1/2.
First off they are pretty light weight. While I'd expected heavier weight for some reason, I am not disappointed with them. They run true to size and are comfortable. Nice to lounge in, and I also wore them for a bike ride to work one coolish morning.
There are a couple details I would change. The biggest thing is that the fly has two snaps rather than a zipper. Not a deal breaker, but it's a little bit more tedious to operate--not quite as quick as a zipper and not quite as "cool looking" as the button fly on your favorite 501's. Another thing is that the leg openings are pretty tight. I have pretty narrow feet, and I have to open the zipper on the bottom of the legs to get my feet through them. There's just not quite enough stretch there to let my feet through. Neither of these things are terrible, they're just "different". And the final point is that I thought as light as they were they might be a bit more breathable, but on my bike ride they felt a little clammy inside. I probably should have been wearing shorts considering the temperature, but there just wasn't a lot of breeze going through them. Maybe I'll appreciate that more in cooler weather...
All in all I…

First off, it makes me happy to hear they're going to get a lot of use. That's our goal!
To address your critiques: We chose to add two snap buttons to the fly to make it functional vs. the alternative, which is a mock fly. Having a working fly is a great addition when you have a climbing harness on, for example. A zipper wouldn't work great in this location since you cannot open the waistband like a more standard pant, and there is too much real estate taken up by the slider and stitching to allow for a reasonable opening. We went with two lightweight buttons so there wouldn't be unnecessary bulk and they would fade away if you decided to go the "over the top" route.
For the leg opening, we made it as close-fitting as possible to keep excess fabric away from that area for riding bikes, running, and other activities. You will need to unzip the bottom about an inch to put your foot through, and then zip it back. This one was a long decision for us, but many other running pants are built like this and we felt the compromise was worth the performance.
I hope this helps! -Andrew
