The Most Reliable V3 in My Climbing Career
As a climber, I was initially skeptical about a pair of pants calling themselves V3. In climbing terms, V3 is that awkward grade where you're no longer a beginner, but the V8 crushers still refer to your projects as "warmups."
Fortunately, these pants outperform their namesake.
I've dragged these things across sandstone, granite, plywood volumes, gym mats, car seats full of chalk, and at least one meeting where I was expected to look like a functioning professional. They handled all of it with surprising dignity.
The stretch is excellent. I can high-step onto a foothold near my ear without worrying about accidentally turning my climbing session into an HR incident. The pockets are deep enough to hold snacks, tape, keys, and the shattered remains of my self-esteem after getting shut down on an actual V3.
Durability has also been impressive. The pants have survived repeated encounters with abrasive rock, whereas my skin, ego, and A2 pulleys have not.
My only complaint is false advertising. If they're called the V3, I feel they should automatically grant the user the ability to flash every V3 in the gym. Instead, I still have to train. Frankly disappointing.
Overall, these pants are comfortable enough for all-day wear, durable enough for climbing, and versatile enough that people think I have my life together.
Final verdict: Climbs like a V6, feels like a V1, and makes me look at least V10 in the parking lot. Would buy again.
