Great Jacket with a drawback or two
So far I have enjoyed my jacket but there are a few drawbacks that might be helpful to know. I have had it for roughly 6 months.
The pros:
- great design
- I love the pockets and having so many of them! (the bottom-front-side pockets are a little high for me, but I do have really long arms)
- quite versatile, I do chores in it, go to the store and even take it on a date or two
- It is just the right weight, it is heavy enough to feel like a quality jacket, but light enough to bring with me on short adventures outside
The downs:
- The shell fabric is not my favorite. It could be just my color (navy blue) but it picks up lint like no other and it is a constant battle to try to keep it looking clean. After a few months I thought waxing it might look nice and help keep the lint down. It did not accept the wax very well. My guess is because it has some polyester in it. It waxed to a fairly even color, but I couldn't get enough wax on it to be remotely close to a water repellant classic waxed canvas.
- The interior lining is soft and comfortable but it also seems a little odd to have a kind of mesh as the liner material. It made me think about the jackets from the 70s that always had that stuff on the inside. Probably just my personal preference though.
- The top collar button caught me by surprise. I didn't realize in the photos that it stuck out and overlapped with the other collar (go look at the photos) it isn't quite my style, although it does allow me to either button it…
